Professional Gardeners in Auckland for Lawns, Hedges and Beds

You should not have to deal with the mess after the job is done. Our gardeners mow, edge, trim and prune, then clear every scrap of green waste off your section before they leave.

How We Handle Your Garden:

  • Two experienced gardeners on site, arriving with every tool the job needs
  • Mowing, edging, weed control, hedge trimming, pruning and planting
  • Planting, mulching and soil work, not just cutting things back
  • A one-off rescue or an ongoing schedule, weekdays and weekends

Your Auckland Section Sorted in Four Steps

Tell us what needs doing and when suits. The team turns up ready to work.

1. Describe your section

Give us your suburb and a rough idea of the size, along with anything that has got badly overgrown.

2. Choose the work

Lawns and edges, hedges and pruning, a full clean-up, new planting, or a standing schedule.

3. Pick your day

Weekdays and weekends both run. Flag any locked gates or narrow access so the team comes prepared.

4. Come home to it sorted

The work gets done, the site is tidied behind them, and the green waste goes on the trailer.

Auckland Gardens Do Not Wait for a Free Weekend

Gardens here never really get an off-season. Warm, wet weather keeps grass, weeds and hedges moving most of the year, which is how a section that looked fine three weeks ago suddenly looks neglected. Staying ahead of it is more about timing than effort.

What that means in practice:

  • Cut to the season: Mowing heights and pruning windows shift through the year, and getting them right protects growth instead of checking it.
  • Kikuyu handled properly: A grass that moves fast in Auckland conditions and needs steady management rather than one big push.
  • Eco-friendly practices: Methods chosen with soil health, planting and nearby waterways in mind.
  • Homes and commercial sites: Family sections, rentals, body corporate grounds and business frontages.

Get the timing right and the section stays manageable. Leave it to chance and you are back to a full weekend of catching up.

Everything Your Garden Needs in One Booking

Very few sections only need a mow. Putting the whole list into one booking takes less of your time than chasing separate trades, and the garden stays even instead of getting attention in patches.

Lawn care covers:

  • Mowing and edging: Cut at a height that suits the grass, with clean edges along paths, drives and beds.
  • Feeding and weed control: Fertilising to thicken the sward, plus targeted weed treatment before it seeds.

Garden care covers:

  • Hedges, pruning and shaping: Hedge trimming, tree pruning and shrub shaping, sized to suit the plant and the season.
  • Planting and soil: Planting and replanting, mulching and soil conditioning to give new growth a fair start.
  • Clean-ups and waste: Seasonal clear-outs of whatever the garden has dropped or outgrown, with the lot taken away.

Tell us what matters most when you book and the gardeners work to that order, so the jobs you care about get done first.

No Surprises on the Day

Hard surfaces left clear

Driveways and decking are blown clear before anyone leaves, so clippings do not end up trailed back inside.

Gear away, gates shut

Tools loaded, gates closed behind the team, and nothing left propped against a fence for you to deal with.

Scope agreed before we start

You know exactly what the visit covers before anyone begins, rather than finding out once the work is done.

The Tree and Hedge Work Most People Put Off

Trees and hedges are the part of a section most people leave the longest, because the work needs height, the right blade and a sense of timing. Cut at the wrong point in the year and you can lose a season of growth or open a wound that invites disease in.

Our gardeners handle tree pruning, hedge trimming and shrub shaping, working to the shape of the plant rather than simply taking length off the top. Deadwood comes out, crossing branches are cleared, and an overgrown hedge is brought back to a line you can realistically keep on top of.

Find Your Local Auckland Gardener

Our gardeners cover the Auckland region, from the North Shore and Hibiscus Coast through the central suburbs and eastern bays, out west to the bush edge and south through Manukau and Papakura. Sections change a lot across the city, and so does the work. A villa hedge in Mount Eden with a narrow side path needs a different approach to a bush-edge block in Titirangi or a coastal garden in Takapuna where salt is hard on the planting.

Every job is allocated to a team already working your part of the city, so nobody is travelling across Auckland to reach you. That keeps visits punctual and makes a standing schedule easier to hold. Not sure whether we reach your street? Send the address through and we will confirm coverage before you commit to anything.

Stop Losing Weekends to the Lawn

What Auckland Homeowners Ask Before Booking

Do you do one-off tidy-ups, or only regular visits?
Both. Plenty of people start with a single clean-up to get a section back under control, then decide whether to put a standing visit in place. Others book a regular schedule from the outset so the lawn and hedges never reach that point. There is no obligation to commit to ongoing visits.
What happens to all the green waste?
It goes with the team, and that saves more hassle than people expect. Garden waste is not something you can put out with the household rubbish, so the alternative is hiring a bin, borrowing a trailer, or running it to a transfer station yourself. Removal is simply built into the visit.
How often does an Auckland lawn need mowing?
Through the warm, wet stretch of the year most Auckland lawns want a cut every week or two, because growth here rarely slows the way it does further south. Over the cooler months you can usually stretch that out to every three or four weeks. Your gardener will suggest a rhythm once they have seen how your grass behaves.
Do the gardeners bring their own equipment?
Yes, all of it. The team arrives self-sufficient, so you are not lending tools, running extension cords, or apologising for a blunt pair of shears. Nothing on the day depends on what is sitting in your shed.
Can you take on a section that has become badly overgrown?
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people call. A clean-up cuts long grass back to a height it can recover from, clears what has built up around beds and fences, and reshapes hedges that have pushed well past their line. Sections left a long time can need more than one visit, and the team will say so upfront rather than afterwards.
Can you stop kikuyu spreading into my garden beds?
We can hold it back, and honesty matters here. Kikuyu spreads by runners above and below ground and is listed by Auckland Council as a pest plant, so no single visit ends it for good. Regular mowing keeps it weak, clean edging along beds holds the boundary, and targeted weed control deals with what pushes through. Managed steadily it stays a lawn rather than taking over the garden.
Do I need to be home while the work is done?
Not usually, as long as the team can reach the areas being worked on. Plenty of customers are at work while the visit happens. Just tell us at booking how to get in, whether a gate is locked, and if there is anything on the section you would rather was left alone.
Do you work weekends?
Yes. Saturday and Sunday visits run alongside weekdays, and through the growing season those are the busiest slots we have. Booking a week or so ahead usually gets you the time you want.
Can you prune a protected tree?
Not without the right consent in place. Trees on the Auckland Council Notable Trees Schedule, and trees within significant ecological areas, riparian margins or coastal zones, are protected under the Unitary Plan, and anything beyond light maintenance needs resource consent first. Check your address on Auckland Council GeoMaps. If your tree is protected we will tell you rather than cut, because the penalties under the Resource Management Act are serious.
